Last April I paid a local shop $1900 to rebuild the trans in my 04 F150. Now its 15 months later, the warranty is up and the trans is out again. My questions is should a trans fail after 37k on it with normal use. The shop is telling me its going to cost $750 to fix it now. The trans has no OD and wont make the 2-3 shift.
It should last an easy 150k!!! Depends on how you drive it, if you have lots of stop and go with short but frequent up/downshifts it tends to kill them fast!! Sounds like a bad rebuild job! A Ford Reman unit is the only safe way to go and the warranty is great!!!!

I would think it would last longer than 37k. It is a lot of stop and go but normal daily use. The only thing I have really done since the rebuild was tow an 18 foot boat 150 miles. The rest of the time the bed is empty.
Ya that tranny should last an easy 150 if not 200000. I towed every day for 150000 never had a rebuild i thought I was going to need one and just dumped JB transmission helper in there and now have over 200000 on it. No problem it runs smooth.
