ICP no start?

Still working on my intermittent no hard/no start. Got the truck hooked up to a Ford IDS unit right now and was able to duplicate it after a few tries. Only difference I'm seeing is the ICP not jumping during cranking. IPR is good. So, will a faulty ICP sensor cause a no start? If so, can you bypass it by unplugging it and make the truck go into a default strategy?

yes unplug the ICP truck will use a default stratigy

also check IPR

mine runs at hot idel
640 ICP
22.5% IPR

if the IPR is like 30% or more at hot Idel you have a HPO leak
It must be checked while HOT like 190 ECT

Its got to running smoother since you got that plastic peice out of the injector???

It sure does run smoother. Attribute that to redoing the injector o-rings and the removal of unknown foreign object. OK, I did 3 different captures. IPR is 26.17% at idle (hot) pretty much on all 3. Icp is 4.60 MPa (667 psi) @ 0.91 v.

Cranking IPR 84.76% peak, ICP peak 15.62 MPa (2265 psi) @ 2.16 v.

When I was able to duplicate it, ICP dropped way down. While IPR was 20.05.

Ok, new ICP installed. Still cranks too much and has me worried that it will let me down again. Anyone have any thoughts on the readings? New ICP, new batteries, newer alternator, new injector o-rings, new IPR, newer STC etc....

did you do anything with the standpipes and dummy plugs when you reringed the injectors

Its best to take ICP and IPR readings at hot idel 190 ect its hard to tell anything during crank

I know I said 30% IPR at hot idel thats a pretty good leak though
I think 26.17% is getting up there

I know you can hook the IPR to 12 volts and close it while you blow air into the HPOS and listen for leaks
sucks to do it to a new IPR though but it may shed some light on it

could it still have air in it

Replaced the stand pipes. Not only would I hate to punish my new IPR, but taking it all apart again is painful

Besides, when she wouldn't start IPR was 20.05. Fuel pressure is also good. I'm starting to wonder if it isn't the FICM

I hear you on that one 12volts is alot for it

how about the dummy plugs in the HPOR on top the injectors

If you did those to Im running out of ideas theres only a pump left and I dont think its bad

good idea to check the ficm and maybe the egr valve
