Hey guys i have a early 99 F250 with the 7.3 ever since i bought it it has been a bear to start back up after it gets warm just from driving a mile or so not HOT just warm. So at first i thought it was bad gas becuse it had set for a long time and would start Some times when hot but seem to ack up more when i was getting closer to empty. i have always been able to get it restarted with a lil stating fluid i know its not good but i had to do it. Now much truck wont start at all when its hot. I put a computer on it and when its cold i get right around 500PSI to my injectors on start up then let it warm up and try to restart and i maxed out at 200PSI to my injectors so i know why it wont start now but my question is. Is it the orings on the IPC or possibaly bad o rings in my hpop or maybe somthing im missing if any one else has any thing i have missed or any past experince it would be awsome to get some more info before i start taring into ***** if you know what i mean thanks alot guys
Couple different ways to test this... You can get the tools to do a Leak down test to the injectors, one bank at a time. Ford sells a dandy tool for it, but its not cheap.
You can pull the valve covers and crank, looking for oil coming out of a particular injector (see video)...
Truck would start and run fine when cold, but as soon as the oil started to warm it would die and not restart until the oil cooled. I had a bad injector build, that was easy to fix once found, but took weeks to find.
I would suggest you invest in Auto Enginuity to help you in the future, huge help on things like this...
thats what im really hoping for GUZZLE here soon im gonig to take it out and put a seal kit on it and see what happens for around 35 bucks its easyer than tearing the VCs off and checking for leaks there and such thanks guys
