Unearthed my Trans and found this.....Is it a good trans, what problems, what fluid for the trans and transfer case and what is the electric connection on the back of this transfer case for ?
Sorry for all the questions but other than it's a 4-speed 4x4 with PTO Dump I don't know anything more. What kind of clutch/pressure plate setup is recommended.
That is a t-19 borg warner. Granny and syncro first. They have a close ratio and wide ratio but I think you will have to check 1st to know which one it is.Wide ratio has a 5.11 to 1 first , close has a 4.20( not sure) to 1 first.. Its regular 90w gear oil. ,not sure about the t-case, I have a bw t-case and it takes ATF.
The electrical connection at the back of the t-case is for a 4x4 indicator light.
so went to drain the box today and it was full of water and gear oil yeah !!! for shts & giggles I ran a magnet into the drain and it wasn't giggles, it was sht. I found a a large flat washer in pieces and 2 dif roller bearing rollers. So it's back together and put on the back burner. If it blows it blows, with all that torque and HP I think something down the road will go
