Will placing the E4OD in Neutral allow starting the engine? I haven't ever had to do this, but it seems that if my 1964 Ford Fairlane 500 Sports Coupe (it's gone) started with the tranny in Neutral, my current truck (see sig) should be able to as well, right?
I recently replaced the Transmission Range Sensor and thought I had it adjusted properly but am not sure now.
The engine starts with the tranny in Park, but I get nothing, no starter movement, nothing with the tranny in Neutral and the parking brake set.
Based on that information, my TRS is NOT properly adjusted, correct?
I should be able to place the gear selector in neutral, adjust the TRS, turn the key, and if the engine starts cranking, the TRS is properly adjusted? Does that sound about right?
I did that the first time. My eyes don't see too well in the dim light (even with a flashlight) under the truck. The alignment marks are easy to see under the light of the dining table, but blend into the TRS body when installed on the transmission. The TRS is properly adjusted now.
