I would go back and bleed the brakes, check to be sure both the top and bottom bolts that holds the calipers in place are tighten to spec, and inspect the pads and rotor for wear. Maybe a warped rotor that helps make the pads rub when initially starting. You should feel this though when braking hard.
Did you use the proper pad grease the last time you installed new pads on both ends to ensure they work properly without binding?
If 4 wheel drive, your u-joints could be getting old/warn and making noise initially too.
Try backing up hard and then going forward to see if that changes the sound. It could possibly help determine if a pad issue.

Ok, did a full inspection today and here is what I found:

First the drivers side: With the wheel off and the caliper off I spun the rotor and there was no noise at all. Everything was smooth and quiet. So upon re-assembly I lubed the pad guides, saw that the dust shield was really close to the rotor so I pushed it back a little. The pads are fine and the rotors are not gouged. I also greased the ball joints and tie-rods while I was there.

Passenger side: Same situation as the drivers side and did the same things upon re-assembly. The only concern I have right now is that the noise i thought I heard was confirmed-- There IS something inside of the passenger front tire. I heard it when I spun the wheel and I heard it while rolling the tire on the sidewalk. Guess Im gonna have to take the tire off the wheel and see what it is.

Result: The same damn noise when I took it for a test drive.Although I did notice that it only makes the sound when coasting or braking. Not during acceleration.

Any ideas?

The rear drive shaft isn't so bad, the front drive shaft sucks!

No way to know without looking, especially if you're not the original owner.

Not the front driveshaft. There is no play in the joints, they spin smooth and quiet and there is no leaking grease. Im guessing the shaft doesnt move when driving the truck in 2wd as the shaft rotated in both directions with the truck in park?
