Sat morn I replaced the back plug o- ring on my hpop. It had been leaking for quite a while, and I noticed when I went to torque it down it seemed like the threads were stripped. I know there is a lot of pressure there but tightened it as tight as it would go thinking the lock tite might help. Well I was wrong drove it this morning about 40 miles everything fine. On the way home the plug gave way to the pressure. Question is ,if the threads are stripped can it be repaired with a heli-arc..... or could I possibly tap it out and use a bigger plug. My fear is a new pump is in my future. Please help
When you say the back plug are you referring to the "non serviceable plug" as Ford calls it? I don't think that a Heli Coil will hold up to 2K psi pressure. I have not heard of anyone drilling and tapping it for a larger plug. I would contact Joey at Terminator Engineering and ask his opinion as what is your best route to go.

My guess is you will want to replace the pump. You might check and see if they make an ez-lock in the appropriate size, but I would not use a heli-coil.
I kinda thought that, the non serviceable one is a bit of a bugger to do. Here is Joeys contact info: Joey@TerminatorEngineering.com He will know for sure what can and cant be done.
Well, just got home from assessing the damage to the hpop. Used a mirror to see inside the hole and the first 1/2 '' of threads were gone.Found the plug in the rear valley. The plug had all of the threads from the hpop still on it. Havnt heard back from joey yet, and also have an email in to riff raff but nothing from them yet either.

Just a heads up, Clay is on the road on his way to his event in Tennessee. I'll get a hold of Joey and tell him he has mail.
So wierd I am on my second hpop in 2 months and friday night my truck died poped the hood and oil everywhere so I had it towed and found saturday morning my drain plug was in the valley with all the threads from the pump on it. First pump spewed oil from the snap ring after a week.... Not happy with the pumps I have recieved from this place...(probably shouldn't mention the name but they are well known for bad reviews)
