need help quick...2001 E-250

Replaced the AC compressor with a by pass pulley because I cannot find a new compressor at present. After replacement van starts right up and appears to idle fine BUT when you go to take off it will pull for ABOUT 20 FEET AND ACT LIKE YOU STUCK IT IN NEUTRAL!! You let up on the gas and then you can feel it like when you take your foot off the gas and git the throttle again and it will pull once again for about 20 feet. Anyone run into this problem and can tell me what the hell is goin on?? I am thinking it may be a coincidence and the fuel pump is going out but not sure. Van ran fine untill the clutch locked up on the AC compressor hence the change to the by pass pulley. HELP!!! I need this running right again ASAP!!
