99 pcv valve

99 pcv valve

i have a 99 F-250 going to change the pcv valve going threw to much oil. would that be inside the valve cover on passenger side im guessing.

Yes, PCV valve is on the passenger side cover attached to a hose connecting to intake manifold . If I am not mistaken , Super Duty PCV valve 1999-2003 are the same and it is Motocraft EV-233 . I got mine from O'Rielly Auto . Personally , I would not substitute it with an aftermarket PCV . Check the following while you are changing it ;

1- Check PCV hose and any attached "elbows" (plastic and/or molded rubber ) for leak/deterioration , if so replace .

2- Find the "other PCV hose" on the "drivers side" cover which is also part of the PCV system ( no PCV valve there ) . Take a look at the fitting . Make sure the fitting is air-tight and attached hose is in good condition .
