No, all new heads complete, and inj, we did it all under warr, we pulled the motor out.
And on the oil thing, You know I didn't crank it to see but I did just look in it, took the cap off and there was oil on the bottom cuz I cleaned it before I put the tower back on and filter in, But I will just check it just to make sure. But did you say I had to hold somthing down. is it the spring loaded deal on top of the plastic center pice where the cap pushes down on it.
Oh and had the wife turn key on and I felt all inj, one by one and all had viberation. and you can here them. for like 10 sec or so.
Also in the begining when I first had the prob, a started the tk, with starting fluid but if you stop spraying it it shuts off. I know it's not a good thing to do but.
Its not your FICM then it sounds ok if its buzzing injectors we wont check the voltage on it yet
you need high pressure oil
You do however need to check LPO heres a pic of the valve you need to hold down with a screwdriver
check the valve make shure its not cocked letting it drain here
I do think you need a good IPR valve
do you pick up any codes when scanned
Well I took off the oil filter cap an filter and had wife crank it and it filled with oil real quik, So like I thought have low oil psi.
Took off passenger side Valve cover and pulled the dummy plug took off the HP oil rail then took out the stand pipe, All the oring's look good and not hard,
Put stand pipe back in, Had wife crank it and no oil coming out of Stand pipe,
So

It sounds like either the pump is bad, the STC fitting is bad, or the IPR is bad. I'm going with the IPR fitting since you can't seem to command it closed.
I have a new IPR in the box I'll go and check it to see if I can get it to go click. Give me 5 minutes.
Yep same here. both of mine don't click. I did take the metal cover off my old one and slid the magnet off the post a little then put pwr to it an it quikly went back, so I know it's getting pwr. IDUNO.
But I put a brand new in the box pump and SCT fitting in. The new pump still had the lite blue oil in it or kinda lite blue color. anyway.
This thing I know is going to be something so stupid and easy but just can't find it.
I'm going to check to see Volts coming out of the IPR plug just for kicks.
Sorry. But it's been more than week. I posted that back in 2011. This time last year. Hahaha. But man I think it ended up being the hpop. But this thing has had a few things since then go wrong. Ficm all 8 injectors but that's par for most of these POS motors. But there are fixes for most of the problems to have longevity for the 6.0. Oil is #1 for the inj, need to keep it changed. The best thing to do is run soot sucker oil filter. FA2500. Cheep fix to help keep oil clean. But I change mine every 4500/5000 mi, and use rotella T6. Very very good oil. Or mobil1.
Fuel is another thing to add a better filter for water or other crap that can get in. And a water filter, it's unbelievable how much sand still comes out from the blocks and other stuff thats in the sys, first is to get rid of the crap antifreeze and swap to Caterpillar. A little up in price but it's one of the best.
