I dont have to activate the bluetooth on my IPhone, it links automatically when I get in the truck. But I don't use bluetooth for music, the sound quality is much better when plugged in.
My phone is so smart...it holds itself ! I tell it to sit...it sits, I tell it to stay...it stays, I tell it to fetch the paper...it says, hey dumba$$...I'm a phone, not your slave

Yeah, i tried that on mine for a while, battery lasts longer when it's not constantly checking for a registered BT device.
Correct about the music as well, I have an iPod in the glove box with all my tunes on it. Much better then going over BT.
I've been thinking about grabbing this. Normally I throw my iPhone into the fold-down seat cupholders...but it bounces around and rattles on the roads. Small, but annoying
I have a droid and bought a kit from Verizon. It came with a car charger, home charger, headset and navigation style mount you can stick on the dash and windshield. Its on sale for anybody with a Verizon droid phone.
Here is my navigation unit. I really want to find a good app for the Ipad which will allow me to put my truck guages on it instead of through the scanguage.
I keep my phone where it always is when I'm verticle, my belt. I'm scared of how many folks use GPS these days, but to each his own. Not reliable in the slightest IMO. In the event of an accident, a smart phone may smoke a fool while it's flying around the truck also. Not to mention if that accident is in the country or less travelled roads it would be nice to know where the phone is, to save your ****.
timbo, Is the app Torque available for iPad or iPhone? Might be what your looking for.
I did a search for it and couldn't find anything. I found one app called Dash command which plugs up to the OBD port and reads the computer just like a scan guage would. However it has gotten a lot of bad reviews and comments. So I dont think I'm going to pay to test it out.

I did a search for that app and couldn't find anything. I found a different app called dash command which uses the OBD port. However it has gotten a lot of bad comments and reviews. So I dont think I'm going to pay to test it out.
