Hi guys,
I bought my 2000 4WD Excursion with some shocks on it that I am trying to id. THey are silver, with a black boot. They look to be stock length, 29 ext and I got 19 collapsed, but the boot was binding, they will probably collapse more. The numbers on the shock come up as nothing in searches:
Q07514 and 740088. I have since seen an F250 with similar shocks, so maybe they are just stock. Interesting though, they are either servicable or they are built different than regular "cheapy" shocks, as there is a circlip holding the shaft/seal assembly into the tube. They are not high pressure, so they almost feel like they are servicable but take no nitrogen. (Noplace to recharge them.) They do stroke very nicely and "feel' like decent shocks. (I have rebuilt MANY snowmobile shocks in my day.) If anyone knows what I am dealing with here, I would appreciate the info!
Thanks.
Chris
Nice! You know anything about them as far as rebuildability? Only question is if they are assembled with pressure in them like a welded shock, or if they are meant to be rebuilt "dead" with no pressure?
No idea on miles, came on the truck. They stroke very nicely. Shafts in great shape. $60 shipped
Email me for pics, pain to post them here. simple@alaska.net
