Help with 5.4l

My 2000 Expy has a miss that I can't seem to track down. I recently replaced the intake, plugs (Motorcraft), fuel filter, pcv valve and elbow. The manifold was spraying my coils so I replaced it and the coils along with the aforementioned parts. I have a miss at idle that continues under light acceleration. Its noticeable at the 40-50 range as it shifts to OD and sometimes seems to over speed that shift. I've cleaned the EGR, IAC, MAF etc. After replacing the intake, a rubber plug for an unused port blew off and sprayed the new coils so some old coils were used to swap out the no ruined ones. I have checked all the hoses for vacuum leaks but I am still chasing this miss. Suggestions please....

Have you had the vehicle scanned for codes yet?

When you replaced the coils, did you inspect the rubber boots and wires (spring connecting coil to plug)? Alloro has mentioned that sometimes the boots crack and can cause misfires. Also, I had a weird "shimy/judder" with my truck when I first bought it and it landed up being a bad wire inside the boot. Maybe there is corrosion on one of the wires? Just throwing out some ideas.

When I did my tune up, I replaced everything including adding new reman fuel injectors. Reason I say this is I had a shudder at highway speeds that never threw a code and it landed up being bad fuel injectors were starving the engine of fuel.

Again, if there is a code please post.

No codes. I checked all the boots and springs and they are ok. I thinking an injector cleaning may be my next step. I may even try swapping out the plugs again. I'm trying to get this thing ready to sell and have spent way too much time chasing this problem.

Well I had my fuel injectors cleaned and that seems to have helped some. It still has a miss but not all the time. Sometimes it will run smooth with no OD shift issue and other times the miss is back. Can this be a coil acting up or going bad? It is not as severe as a coil that has died, but still aggravating. How bout an o2 sensor? I wish it would just throw a code so I could track it down.

Yeah, I think it's time to buy a new coil and a set of plugs and start swapping them out.
