2007 Engine Missfire

Im trying to chase down an engine miss fire on a 2007 with the 5.4L. It only seems to miss under no-load conditions, such as at idle and on a downgrade while driving. Acceleration and under a load it runs fine. New Champion plugs were installed at 135,000 miles. The truck now has 150,000 miles and has only been miss firing for the last 1,000 miles or so. I pulled the connector off of the coils one at a time to try and figure out which cylinder/s were missing. I thought I found the problem ones and replaced two of the coils, but it ended up not fixing the issue. Ive tried spraying carb cleaner at and around the intake to check for leaks, but found none. I have a scanner, but the check engine light is not on, so its not much help. Any ideas? Thanks.

Use the Mode 6 data to determine what may be causing the misfire or, at least, what cylinder(s) are misfiring. Follow this link for Mode 6 information:

Champion plugs, there's your problem. I've read nothing but bad things with champion plugs. Your best bet is to change them all again but with motorcraft plugs. They're a little pricier but worth it in the long run.

Nalb1221, you were right. Took the Champions out and replaced with the Motorcraft SP515's and she runs great now. The gaps on all of the Champions were huge, one of the center electrodes was even worn down so much it didn't sick out past the porcelain and they only had about 15,000 miles on them.

Nice awesome you found the problem. Now you know it's just better to go with motorcraft parts, it seems most aftermarket parts fail. I guess that's why they recommend what they recommend.
