Engine Block Rust Question
I wouldnt worry about the rust on the block its self. It would take 100 years for that block to rust through if it was sitting at the bottom of the great salt lake. I would be worried about the oil pan though. Those are thing steel and will rust through. Your best bet is to remove the upper intake, exhaust system, and unbolt the motor mounts. Jack the engine up, pull the oil pan bolts reach up under that thing and unbolt the oil pump. Pull the pump and pan out. Then PPP the pan, buy a new oil pump and re assemble.
