OK, did a search and didn't find anyone else mention this. I was under my truck today draining the water separator and look up at the engine block. There is an awful lot of rust scale on the drivers side right below the rear most soft plug on the engine block. Anybody else notice this on there truck. Wanted to check before I take it to the stealership.
That was my first fear. Soft plugs are fine. Rust seems to be just external. I've just never seen an engine block flaking off big chunks of rust before and wasn't sure if this was a common problem or not.
yeah this rust belt is kicking my trucks a$#. I will try the scotchbrite and etch primer to help slow down the process. Guess that Caterpiller is looking better & better.
