I got the glowshift guages and pillar mount for around $150, fuel press, egt, and boost the 3 items recommeded to be monitored (these are 7 color guages seem to work fine). SC I have seen them for $150 at camping world, got mine through autozone for a little more.
The fuel pressure requires an adapter in the fuel filter to work, the boost requires a hole to be tapped in the intake manifold and the pyro needs a hole tapped in the exhaust manifold. None of the items are monitorable by the SC or most monitors without the same requirements. So you are looking at around maybe $400 for a guage, SG setup, depending if you can do the tapping yourself (would be less).
To determine what value to input into the XXXX field you will need to follow 4 steps.
Step 1:* Input 0000 into the XXXX portion of the MTH field
Step 2:* View the value displayed by the BST gauge with the key on, but engine off
Step 3:* Find the value that matches your recorded value on the table below
Step 4:* Replace the last 4 0′s in the MTH with the XXXX value that corresponds to your key on / engine off reading
If you follow those steps correctly, then BST should read 0.0 with key on / engine off.* If it does, then your boost gauge is properly calibrated and reading correctly.
Note:* Changes in altitude can affect the accuracy of the boost reading slightly, so be sure to check the BST reading with key on / engine off every so often and recalibrate it as needed.
Boost: 07E0221440 046285140640 3010 001D0050XXXX
It's more accurate to say you can "estimate" boost by using the
MAP reading - on vehicles w/o boost available via ODBII.
In my Ex, "boost" is NOT available (it's not on the dashboard either).
But, I have added "bst" to my SGII, by using the MAP PID and
appropriate mth values as you have described.
(thanks again by the way!)
Go to the cleanmpg.com web site. On the left hand side there is an add for it for $159. below that is the add for the group buy at $135. MAYBE the add doesn't show up until you join (not sure about that). Regardless, it is free to join. Once you join, it is $135 w/ free shipping. You can easily save $30 vs anywhere else.
