So im looking at a pro comp 6.5in lift for my 99 F250 SD. does anyone know if the back springs are shorter to accommodate the rear factory blocks, or are the front and rear springs the same height?

honestly when it comes to ride quality, you should look into companies that base their stuff off of performance lifts, not just lift kits. ICON Vehicle dynamics used to be Donahue Racing and they had a super duty they used to race down in baja, and that thing was awesome. all of the dealerships around here used to use their kits specifically over fabtech and procomp (fabtech is local to us too). not sure what all you would need but here is a link to their site.
its all about the shocks anyways, Pay for good shocks
THIS!!!!
I have used a BUNCH of different shocks over the last 15 years of driving/off-roading, I have used Pro Comp more than once. They are at the bottom of my list.
to be honest, its ALL in the springs when it comes to f250/f350s! they are made to carry a house! that equals tons of stiffness, and you feel it by the seat of your pants. Icon makes their own springs, and it is hands down the best ride you will get, dont be fooled by the other "full spring packs" they move you from a iron house (stock) to a brick house (their "best riding spring)!
Springs or shocks, springs or shocks... which is more important?
The correct answer: BOTH! If EITHER is wrong, no matter how perfect the other component is it will ride like ****e.... Too stiff of a spring (like 90% of tall lift kits) or too much compression damping in shock (like 95% of the under $100 lift shocks) will not let the axle move to absorb bumps. Either hurts.
I can say with certainty it's definitely not all about the shocks. I had Bilstein's on my 2000 that were great, up until I lifted it with a Pro Comp lift (got it for free). I never tried changing out the springs to another mfr but I did change shocks: a set of Rancho 9000's, Bilstein 5100's, and Pro Comp MX6 shocks and the ride never changed, it always sucked... I had 4 or 5 different types of tires as well and it never helped.
i am running bds kits on my 99 super duty and 3 of my other trucks. Have used countless other brands and i like bds the best not to mention the life time warranty, no questions asked.
