Had a 'puter diagnostic' that said I have a vacuum leak.... I have propane cylinders to check out a leaky line but don't know where the vacuum lines and just how many there are. - 2000 Explorer - 3.8L - AT - 4x4 Could somebody post a diagram or ?? to let me know just where to look. I'd rather 'do' an old Ford, MUCH simpler. Thanx ahead.
it helps if you post the code, and not the mechanics interpretation of what the code means... you could have an intake manifold gasket leak ? vacuum hose heat cracked ? or other. Dont use propane, just look for burn or brittle hoses... and post code.
Also, confirm which engine you have. I'm not aware that there was ever a 3.8L installed in an Explorer from the factory.
As mentioned above, knowing the exact code will help. There are certain codes that point to certain common issues such as manifold gaskets, PCV elbows, and DPFE sensors.
