Talking cab disasembly

Hi gang just wanted to know if any one has found an easy way to remove the glue from cab joints? I am removing the rear of one cab to place on another cab, and wondered if any one has found a way to soften or remove the seam cement.

There is no glue. These cabs are spot welded together. The stuff you are referring to is seam sealer, and the easiest way to remove it is with a wire wheel/brush. You are going to have a very difficult time disassembling the back part of a cab without bending it all to hell. I'm assuming you're interested in replacing the bottom back of the cab, a common rust spot on these. There are a million spot welds back there. It's no big deal to drill the welds and remove the rusted section, but you'll be better off fabbing a new section rather than trying to get the panel off of another cab in decent shape. If your plan was to replace the whole panel back there, be aware that it's put together in such a way that it will be very hard to reassemble with another piece. Then again, anything is possible. Good luck with it.
