Any suggestions on lifting a crew cab on an 05 6.0 with out a shop lift? I'm going to replace the head gaskets and install studs. I have removed many regular cabs with a tractor front end loader and a 4x5 timber thru the windows. Wondering if any one has done the same to a crew cab? Any advice would be appreciated.
Ya do it cab on or pull the engine, both seem like safer options with out the correct tools.
It takes 4 hours to pull the heads cab on, it takes less then 4 hours to pullman engine.
I would pull the engine. It's not too bad. Doing headstuds in cab isn't terrible. But, after doing all three methods and a lift wasn't attainable, I would yank the engine.
I can't remember which name he used, but under either "run6.0run" or "SuperDutyService", Anthony took two harbor freight engine stands and made one stand that grabs from the engine mounts instead of the rear. I'd fab that before ghetto-pulling the cab.

Anthony your stand always reminded me of a detroit engine stand. A lot more clearance tho and more stable.
He got a much better price even after all the work he put into it.
Have a look at this bad boy

And Rotunda wants USD $219.45 for the same thing and I could not find the OTC one.
