IPicked up the beast yesterday. Drove her all the way back to Eastern Long Island from Toms River NJ.
I dont know if this is a problem or not but now she has a rough idle when the trans is in drive and you have you foot on the brake. There is no shudder when driving. If I am stopped at a light with my foot on the brake in drive she begins to vibrate. If I put her in neutral or park she is fine. Once I take my foot off the brake and go she runs like a champ. This is the only problem.
She runs great and is not throwing out any codes. I think I will have the tranny serviced this week to see if it helps.
It sure is good to be sittin on top of the world agin. After 3 weeks of driving a Taurus, I cant' tell you how much I hate cars.
Anyone else have this trouble after having their RH Cylinder head replaced? If so, what was the solution? God knows there are PLENTY of us out there.
GOD BLESS OUR TROOPS AND I HOPE YOU GET HOME SAFE AND SOON. AND A BIG THANKS TO ALL OUR VETERANS OUT THERE THAT GAVE US ALL THE WAY LIFE THAT WE ALL TAKE FOR GRANTED TODAY!!!!!
Your torque converter might be getting ready to deep-six itself. If the torque converter isn't releasing properly, then it'll be bogging the engine down at idle.
Thanks Matt. Thats what I was thinking/fearing as well. But before I go thru that, I figured I would do a tranny service including change the filter to see if that helps.
How do you like the Trans-go kit? I saw a couple of threads about them but they dont seem to offer any definitive answer as to which one is preffered/better/easier install (if either). I am not comfortable with fiddling with the trans ( due to my bad luck) so I would have it put in when I get the service done.
Ok so I had the tranny, differential, and transfer case fluids changed. Still has a rough idle. It is not terrible, it is just enough that I notice it. You feel it only when stopped with your foot on the brake. Changed the PCV (no difference). Any other thoughts or ideas..........
