Headrest

Going to buy a used Ranger just to haul stuff here and there. My main concern is safety. I want a headrest, so I don't get whiplash as bad without a headrest. Does anyone know when they start making them with it? I was looking to buy 1988 through 1991 Ranger.

If they don't come with it, is placing a headrest a feasable option?

What year did they start placing them?

Don't know the years, but you can take a seat from a new Ranger & bolt it in. You can't add it to a seat that never had it.

Do you get rear-ended that often? I had an '88 regular cab Ranger that I was rear ended in twice. If you have the seat all the way back like me, your head only goes a couple inches before it hits the back window, so it's not a big deal.
