question on headrest

i sat in a new F150 yesterday and noticed the headrests on the front seats tilts foward quite a bit and for me it was very uncomfortable to sit in the seat and I don't think I could be in the seat for a long time without removing the headrest since it seemed to only adjust up/down. Do any of you '09+ owners have problems with the headrests?

I thought the 2010 headrests were moved back a bit. I really don't have an issue with the headrest on my 2009, but that is just me.

No issue (to me) with the 8-way adjustable seats.

There have been similar posts to this one... I like mine a lot. they sit right where I need them to actually rest my head. No other head rests have ever actually rested my head... Also, I believe on a previous thread someone mentioned that all manufacturers were making similar headrests due to government safety regulations (whiplash).

Yup, it seems as though all headrests are further forward than they used to be...likely to provide a bit more protection to those who feel like they have to drive almost lying down.... And to do better in preventing whiplash.

It seems as though I can usually get comfortable by reclining the seat back one more notch than I usually would and playing with the headrest height. I sure would not want to drive without headrests as the disks in my neck already are problematic...

Its too bad the headrests arent adjustable, IMO. I'm one of the few drivers who probably rides with the seat more in the "L" position. Due to some back issues, it actually is better for my back to sit up straight, and sometimes the foreward pushing head rest is a little akward, but it still didnt keep my from buying my truck though.

All makes have them changed this way, so I'm sure it's due to regulation.

It is due to the new safety concerns of whiplash when being rear ended. I find the head rests comfortable in my 2010.

I don't care for mine either and my girlfriend said this is the nicest truck that she has ever ridden in short of the head rests. Anything we can do? Replacement from prior year?

I hated the original headrests in my '09 and replaced them with "old style" headrests from an '08 Taurus X. The fit is perfect and the color & fabric match is good enough that you have to look really closely to tell they are not original.

I had to take mine off to install the seat covers... There is a small button you pinch on the side of the plastic trim piece in the seat (not headrest). It releases the headrest the last little bit.

Cant' find any little button the cushion only goes down about a inch then hits another plastic peace but I can see all around the gray peace (I think that's what's holding it) and there is no button any other hits I should try
