Got a 2006 E-450 CHASSIS, ON A TRIP, CHECK ENGINE LIGHT CAME ON, WHIPPED INTO A FORD DEALER, WAS TOLD $110 AND THEY WOULD READ THE CODE FOR ME, NO WONDER THEY DIDN'T NEED A BAILOUT!!!!! ANY WAY AUTO zONE CAME THRU, CODE WAS A PO155, SHOWED BANK 2, SENSOR 1. WHERE IS IT???? Thanks in advance.
Sensor 1 should be first O2 right behind the where the exhaust manifold collector meets the y-pipe. Should be screwed in right at the top of the Y-pipe. Don't know if you have post cat O2s.
FYI I would spend the money on a new Motorcraft O2. Some of the aftermarket O2s can be "lazy".
Anything could cause it, from the O2 sensor itself, to a broken wire, to a corroded connector, to a bad ground.
If you want to just go buy an O2 sensor and don't have the knowledge or just don't want to check it first, by all means, buy one and try it.
If it doesn't make the code go away, or you want to check it before you spend the $'s, you have to check for +12 at the O2 sensor connector. Right now, I'm not sure which wire color is which, and I don't have a schematic for the 2006 E-series...
Well, I crawled under the motorhome and the sensor pigtail was laying on the head pipe. The adapter where the pigtail and the engine side of the wiring both come together at a plastic adapter, needless to say this adapter is toast. I need to know if the engine side sensor wire that goes into a large wiring bundle at the rear of the engine is seperate in that bundle and comes out somewhere and plugs into something so I could just purchase that 02 engine wiring harness and bypass the bundle?
No, since you probably don't have any down stream O2 sensors...
Check the calibration sticker under the hood to see if you have an OBD1 or OBDII emissions system installed. OBD1 implementation doesn't use down stream sensors.
