78 Box splash guards

Hey guys, got a simple question (hopefully).

I'm getting ready to POR-15 the bottom of my "new" repaired bed for my 78, but I'm having a bit of an issue getting the metalic portion of the splash guard off. I think mine may even be tack'ed to the bottom of the box on each side, cause they just don't want to come off.

I have the rubber/plastic splash guard portions that help cover the rest of the wheel well off (just a few small screws), but those darn metallic portions that cover the middle of the wheel well just will not come off.

Am I S.O.L. on this one?

if your working on what i think you are, youll have to either leave those there or drill out the spot welds. im thinking thats the piece that holds the bedside to the wheel well and it is permanent.

They're spot welded along the wheel arch and along the inner flange. Go to your other thread and read my most recent post.
