can loose battery terminals cause problems that look like the fuel pump is not functioning properly. my truck got stuck last week out of state it was throwing a code for the fuel pump on the aftermarket computer the shop that it is that said they could not get any codes now and the only problem is loose battery terminals that would cause the problem. has anybody had this happen to them or heard this before or have any suggestions on what to do I have to go get the truck and drive it two states today. any help or suggestions would be greatly appreciated guys .
Been down that road several times with trucks, not Ford, but doesn't make a difference. I also work daily with electronics that depend on steady relaible power to function correctly that also can throw codes, etc. Can't tell you specifically with your truck, but I can tell you the first thing I do when I get to a job with an electronics issue is hook to the power source I carry with me in my truck so I know I have good power.
The said the truck ran fine on 2 test drives and running for 1 hour or so
First time I had a truck flat bedded in years ago, nothing except loose terminal. There are, of course other things that can make a truck act goofy, but intermittent power certainly could be one of em.
In terms of troubleshooting, problems that are not constant are absolute Hell to find. Somedays I work my butt off and find nothig. Two weeks later customer is complaining because I didn't fix it. It's just hard to know for sure what was going on, but one thing for sure. No tech can fix a problem that is gone when they work on the truck. The problem with codes is they are not always correct any more than the computer in you den is always on top of its game. They are just machines and they don't always work the way they should.
So the shop calls me back n tells me it is a bad injector. But even with one sticking the truck should not die all of a sudden, run ruff like it was before it died yes. So now I am stuck again with no truck till thursday sitting and thinking what went wrong?
