I have a short in my 95 f 350 psd 4x4.I have two news batteries. I have a draw with the test light trick. The only way i can kill the test light draw is if I pull maxie fuse 20 & 13 . I have pulled high beam switch,ALT,Idm,the two big plugs on frame feeding the rear lights,ECM,Gpr,buzzer. The only thing that kills it is to unplug the big pass through on driver side on fire wall. My Head light swatch has five wires that are HOT two big wires and three littles wires. How many wires should be HOT on the head light switch with everything trunded OFF?????
Please explain how you have your test light hooked up? Pretty much the only way to test for a draw that I know of is with an Ohm meter. Lets make sure you are testing correctly before we start to look at causes of the issue. Please don't take it the wrong way! I just want to make sure we don't spin our wheels.
I have a test light on the passanger side battery hooked to the negative post to the battery cable to complet the curcit. The test light will light up very very very dim if you dont have a draw. My test light, lights up very brite with doors closed and everything turned off.The driver battery is un hooked. If i hook the negative cable back to the baterry than take the cable back off and hook up the test light in between the negative cable and post... I have no draw untill i pull the head light on and turn them off.I will then have the draw until i touch the cable to the post. Than i have no draw till i turn the light switch back on , or pull the highbeam back or forward,or turn lt or rt with on key on. I get a bright test light a draw. Its like i trip a relay and something is staying on. I can turn the draw off and on i just cant find it.I have found many shorts with a test light on the negative side of a battery like this. I may be doing something wrong please help Thanks

Good to hear! I never really thought about using a test light for draw. That works good. Just no amp numbers to work with. Good idea if I am on the road!
