I started out with a craftsman set of tools, and slowly replaced them with snap on and Matco tools as my experience grew. The craftsmans simply moved home or became my second set of tools at work (such as, i have a set of craftsman and snap on combination wrenches). Snap on's are nice, but pricey, and its easy to fall into the tool man's "low weekly payments" plan and get in too deep.
The only thing i really dont care for is Craftsman ratchets. They dont fit my hand correctly. I ponied up for Snap on ratchets in my high school days ...
i will agree with bootlegger....watch out for the tool accounts, ive buried myself before and if you dont set money aside for him your ditchin him and taking long test drives till he leaves hahaha. its nice to make payments on the big stuff, just be careful
ive never had to take a long test drive to skip out on snap on ... but my good friend (ok, the best man in my wedding ) looked yesterday, his CURRENT snap on account is $19,840. I was like WOW!!! owing a grand on my toolbox isnt so bad!
