I know this has been gone through countless times but I just want to know in a ballpark of what MPG's i should be expecting.
2002 f-350 7.3 CC LB 4x4, 5" lift, 34" A/t tires. Mods include: full built suncoast tranny with TQ, 6.0 cooler, 4" turbo back exhaust, and Dp tuner with 40, 60, 80 tow, decel, high idle, 60, 80 econ. The truck is practically in brand new condition with 110k miles, meticulously maintained.
The reason I ask is because I recently replaced the hypertech tuner that seamed to really suck the fuel on stage 2. The truck will mostly be driven in 60E or 80E.
If you want better mileage the answer is in your right foot not a mod. I used to get 13.5-15mpg. I'm now seeing 17 with a lighter touch on the throttle and going from a highway cruising speed of 80ish to around 70 has likely helped a lot too.
Yea that is why I chose the smaller 305/70/17 A/t is and a mild lift to keep some what of mileage I have left. I am also not Mr. speed racer so thats fine. Ill try to hand calculate the mpg on this tank of gas
truck in signature gets 15-17 city/ some highway. Haven't settled down since it got the dp tuner.
If your looking for mileage in these trucks do the RFP(right foot pedal) Delete Mod. You can pick up a hitch receiver from a junkyard for $56.34. Tie a 3/4" braided rope(i suggest synthetic) and a throw hook(like what deadliest catch uses). Sit by the freeway and once a semi passes, throw the hook and your golden. Gains of up to 40 mpg. Its a good thing you have a built tranny because this mod is really hard on them.
