as a person who has extensive knowledge of sterling 10.25 brakes i will tell you that the rear drums do indeed do at least 60% of the braking duties on these trucks. i drove my old f350 with front disk brakes and no rears for a while, and it was a huge difference without them. i put 30+ thousand miles on mine and they never let me down, only brake issues i had were abs related. the 38's threw everything off.
