Same Code p2285

Had a issue last week with truck going into limp mode and barely running, so i ordered a new ICP and it took it a week to get here but non the less, i put it in this afternoon and the truck is still freaking out, and the check engine light came back on along with the wrench, what is confusing to me is that with just the key on and not running you can watch the boost guage jump all around from 20 - 10 and stuff like that,

Anyone have any input thanks

Some code readers can't read the codes thrown w/ the wrench. I have read at least ONE thread where an aftermarket code reader picked up the oil temp code AND the boost code. Try to see what code has been thrown.

Sounds possible that it is at least a sticking turbo.

That has got to be a electrical thing with the boost gauge. Did you have the 2285 code when you put in the ICP sensor, when they go there is useally surging going on with the truck.

Things that can "freak out" the turbo:

MAP sensor, or plugged hose to MAP sensor
EBP sensor, or plugged tube to EBP sensor
Bad VGT actuator
Sticking vanes to the turbo

I assure you the turbo is "running" - you have exhaust gas going through the turbine at all times. The vanes may be sticking which can cause it to have low/no boost.

Pull the MAP hose, EBP tube - clean them.

Ok good news got the icp issue fixed n all lights off on the dash now I have no check engine lights on but now the truck has too much boost and is blowing the inlet hose off and when I am barely giving it gas it has 20 psi of boost, if it's not one thing it's another any ideas on this new condition

20 pis is normal to low. clean the boot so it is free of oil. I use breaker parts cleaner. make sure it it fully dry before reinstalling it. do not overtighten the clamp doing so will either brake the clamp or cause the boot to pop off.

I cleaned map hose, but back to the boost I can tell it way way too high everytime I left off the gas it sounds like its blowing off as it spools down, not normal sounding

turbo flutter. there is no waste gate so no way for it to blow off. you have a turbo issue. need to remove and clean turbo and see if that corrects the concern. also check ebp readings at koeo. if that does not fix your issue a new turbo may be required.

So your saying a dirty map hose will throw a P2285 Code and not being the ICP Sensor??? Mine keeps throwing a P2285 Code and truck is surging.
