Rough running

[updated:LAST EDITED ON 05-Dec-02 AT 02:25 PM (EST)]I got a 90 F-150 with the 6 cyl. It starts and idles ok. The thing is when i drive at about 40 mph it runs rough. Kind of misses. I first thougt it was the tranny buy took it in and they said it's the engine. I pulled the plugs and wires and looks good (they are only 6 months old). Could this be some kind of sensor doing this?

The fuel and air filters are new as well.

Rough running

does the engine miss at a certian rpm range or just when the truck hits 40 mph? yes, sensors can contribute to it running poorly. with the info provided, i would guess a o2 sensor or possibly a throttle position sensor. electronic engine control isnt my strong point, just thought id try to help.
