I started having a porblem the other day with oil burning and now I drove the truck to work everything was fine until I went to start it again and it doesnt do anything all the lights turn on like normal however it will not crank all the fuses are good and so are the batteries and i have like 11.5 volts from my batteries. Any suggestions on what else could make it not crank? PCM?
I suspect that the problem may be in one of the connections...I'd disconnect both batteries from each other and charge each battery. While the batteries are charging I would disconnect and clean each of the battery cable connections all the way back to the starter. You probably want to take the batteries to have them load tested (local parts store like AutoZone)...weak batteries will prevent normal starts in this truck. Also, if one battery tests good while the other tests bad, replace BOTH at the same time.
Loose battery connections. On batteries and ground. Loose connections on the starter too. Check your terminals, clean and tight. Get a load test on the batteries.
What do you mean by oil burning ? Try taking a screw driver and shorting out the 2 large lugs on the fender starter selonoid.. If it trys to start, then the selenoid is probably bad..
Got it it was the solenoid and I dont know why i didnt check that before because Ive done that several times in other vehicles just one of those days I guess thanks guys.
