What is a 444E trans ? I seen one on C/L Hattiesburg Ms.

 

international made the 7.3 and called it the t444e motor. i dont think they will fit the 7.3 have an adapter plate on them.

 

T444E is the international name for our motor. T is for Turbocharged. 444 is the displacement and E is for Electronic.

 

The guy wants $500 for the trans

 

After looking at the CL listing, that is a transmission for a bigger truck than a pickup. Notice the large parking brake drum on the output shaft. That's probably an Allison since they were used on some bigger delivery type trucks that had a 7.3 in them. That would be a lot heavier transmission weight-wise than a 4R100.

 

I had that tranny on my 1991 F590F Superduty.
Had the 7.3 IDI and that is a E4OD Superduty tranny. If I am correct it has the 4 bolt torque converter and not the 6 bolt
