Getting my 2011 undercoated

I should get my new 2011 250 next week. I bought my last new truck in 1992. I had the 92 undercoated when new. I have been glad I did it but still had some sheet metal rust. I talked to my dealership and they can have the 2011 undercoated for $250. The dealership is in our small town (less than 1000 people) and said they have only done a few in the last ten years. I trust my dealer and am sure it will be done right. They take them to another dealer (a Chevy dealer) to be done. Seemed to me $250 was pretty cheap to protect a $50000 truck. Anyone else have their truck undercoated?

I have had all my trucks undercoated/rust proofed since the 80's. I live in western NY where they spread lots and lots of road salt in the winter. In my opinion it helps save some of the rusting that is going to happen. Like you said, a small investment in a 50K plus truck.

I've been doing my own since 1985. I bought the Rus-Fre system gun and supplies. It works good and is cheap. Protects against gravel making chips as well if you live on a dirt road.

Where did you buy your supplies? I did a Google search and there are many places on the Internet and many different prices. I would rather buy from a known good supplier than a shot in the dark with Google.

I get it on the internet now. I used to get it at my local napa but it is very expensive. Even with shipping it's cheaper to google it. No worry about the internet. I've never been shorted when dealing with automotive stuff.
I can't remember were I got the last stuff from online ( back in Oct for my 2011). But I get the Black undercoater for under and the clear for inner panels. Get the black rubber plugs and the special 1/2 in drill bit they sell for making access to the inner walls were you want. The undercoating gun they sell does a good job. If you get a 5 gal pail and put hot water in it and have the Black gal jug in there as well the hot water will heat the stuff up so it comes out so fast. Also the 5 gal pail will keep the gal jug from tipping over.
Use gas, paint thinner to clean up. Or bug and tar remover.
I use the gun to spray my bedliners in as well. Just did my bed with Monsta Liner..
