Im Back....
I have been gone for awhile now and also been absent from my 77 F250 restore. I am now getting back into it! YIPEE...I ordered new cab corner, rocker, front and rear pillar and inner rocker for the passenger side. (one side at a time) I also started undercoating the frame tonight (looking good too). I need to fix my grille inserts though, they are all cracked up. Has anyone had good experience with any plastic repair epoxy or anything on these grilles?
Welcome back and unless you slide that cab back forward you are going to have one LONG hood on that thing. lol
Jk looking good there keep us posted we are just a click away to lend motivation and support.

All 4 of them are bad. I had some piece's made to weld in there to fix that. I will post pics of them when i get them back from my buddy's shop.
Anyone I ever fixed I just used a fiberglass based putty on the back side and a regular body filler on the front side.

So i am putting headers on my truck and i have an issue. The headers are not fender well exit. Where the header flange sits (where the pipe hooks up) it runs right into my transmission cross member. I have only like 5-6 inches befor the pipe will hit the cross member. I have thought of two options, first is to remove the crossmember and cut the hump out of it and then reweld a flat piece of steel back in its place so the exhaust pipe will be able to go straight above the cross member. The other idea is i could get a piece of flex pipe and see if it has enough flex to bend it either above or under the cross member. Any ideas or thoughts?
Welcome to the world of chassis exit headers, you have a long standing exit issue from what I understand. Fenderwell exits are the way to go IMO.
Cutting and flat platting the cross member your way sounds like a good idea as long as you do not take out to much and weaken it, you know it has some torque on it.
And the flex pipe is getto-fabulous but does not connect to the header flange very well. Time to see if your local exhaust shop folks are really as good as they charge.
See if they can bend pipe to clear just the cross member and you pipe the rest to save $$?

Well after closer inspection i do not have room to get any pipe in there to bend around the cross member. So i will be cutting it and flat platting it. I will take some pics and let you know how it goes when i get time to do it.
So i also need to relocate/ re-route my transmission lines. I am thinking about just using like a rubber fuel line to route them were i need them to go (away from the headers). Any thoughts on that or maybe some other options besides buying new steel lines and trying to bend them around in there?

Any thoughts on if this would be ok?
I had the same issue on my 71 Bronco after header install, can you use some fuel injector fuel line (its better quality anyway) and us that as a adapter to move over/relocate the trans lines but still use the steel ones?
