Hey guys im new here I bought a 2007 screw last month It has the 5.4 I am do a oil change want to know what's recommended does anyone use Lucas I have in previous trucks I use only motocraft oil and filters. After that im wanting to install the in dash gps display and want to know if its plug and play and can I purchase a steering wheel with the controls? If so does anyone know were I can get a used one. I hope to be posting picturessoon
I've read of a couple of people that have changed wheels for either the radio or cruise control. In those 2 cases, the wiring was apparently in place but it still took the dealer to turn something on to make it work. Sorry, only thing I know on the subject.
I would not use lucas in these engines. To the best of my knowledge it just thickens the oil. I have a friend that works at a dealership and he told me thick oil is not recommended because the oil passages in the heads are small. Maybe you could just use 5w30 instead of 5w20 especially if your in a warmer part of the country.
I use only the recommended 5w20 oil and Motorcraft FL820S oil filters in my truck and both 3.0L 24V car engines. No problems due to oil or filter so far.
Thanks for all the advice guys I used the motocraft oil and filter with no Lucas now just gotta find a place with the in dash gps and steering wheel : /
