It was 103* here in the southern part of the state yesterday. Wish I had one of those cushy inside jobs Guess what probably 90% of my calls have been the last few weeks, everybody is crying for air conditioning
Morning gentlemen, took coming back to work just to get some regular sleep. Learned an important lesson 0400 Sunday morning here in Nevada (MO) helping a fellow SuperDuty owner. This guy was from Morgan City, LA; had been up to Iowa for something to do with a couple of pigs he had in the trailer (not sure on those details). Anyway, he had a tire separate on him somewhere in Iowa on his way back. 3-4 hours later he had another tire let go. Needless to say he was up the sewage stream without a propulsion device. Helped the guy load one of his tires up (off the side of the highway) and went to the WalMart in town....thinking maybe they might have a tire. Of course they didn't have his size...and the important part here. Because he was running 20" after market rims & tires...WM couldn't install the tire if they had it. Their company policy is to only install the listed size of tire that's on the door jam VIN sticker. This poor guy managed to find a tire shop that thought they had a tire that would fit...all this after making Lord knows how many calls. Yeah, I'll stick with my 265/75/R16E Michelins.

It's alright, that's what friends are for. Even if they give you crap about your engine (cough, Jeff).

Final bill(on me, of course)$1550 in parts and about 20 hours labor. What'd I get for my investment? A warm 6 pack of beer...4 Dos xx's and a couple of Coors lites. Yay.
I'm pretty sure you could have gotten a better deal on beer straight across than that twisted around the wrong way horse trade like that.

Is this were I play the pitty card asking for sympathy since that's the kind of crap I work in this time of year?
Guess not....

I've get one of those indoor cushy jobs when we take an empty coal train to KC. Though the last one we had, the a/c keep freezing up. I still say, you'd think a $2M piece of equipment would have a $10 thermostat.
Man this cooler weather sure has been nice! Wednesday I pulled the steering box and some other parts of the parts truck and yesterday I put the steering box in my 72 F350. Man that was a job! Now today I have to go back out there and figure out how to get my steering wheel right side up without taking the steering box back out. I should be able to take the rag joint loose and spin the wheel 180 to get it where it needs to be. After that I need to chase down the bad connection that is keeping me from starting the truck.
