I have a 56 f100 that I drive now with a y block. I have another frame I am getting starting on. I have looked at all the IFS kits and dont know what works best. Here are my plans
521ci
box frame
4 link rear
9inch
IFS front
I dont need to lower it alot so no bags for me
I am not intersted in buying a frame either.
I was looking at the art morrision. Any thoughts or experience?
Welcome to the Forum! There are many options for IFS. Do a search and you will find a lot of info. I personally have done the Mustang II but there are many options. A lot depends on your automotive skills, cash and timeframe. Good luck and post some pics. We love pics!
First off welcome to FTE and its great to see that there is another 53-56 F100 project going to happen......
I'm running a Mustang ll as well but with only sbf with boxed front frame.
Good luck and lets see lots of pics of the build.
Great help, I read the sticky And I can't put a winstar in my truck. I just can't!! Or a vette. So let's talk mustang ||. Fatman? Heights? Or truly off a mustang? I've been working on cars for 20 years and have never built a hot rod, so please excuse the ignorance. I don't mind a lowered truck I'm just not going to need to drop my frame on the street.

Thank you
I guess I'm a little confused. You said you aren't interested in buying a frame, but said you were looking at the Art Morrison chassis? They build top notch stuff, but you do pay for what you get.
Personally, I think you have a good plan. Drive and enjoy your truck, while building your new, custom chassis. I think you have a good plan with the 4 link/9" rear with your stroker big block. For my money, the best front end you can have with that combo is the Heidts Superide II. Heidts Hot Rod & Muscle Car Parts - HEIDTS Superide II Truck - Complete Package
You can't go wrong with that, period.
Also, as a side note for my 48-52 brothers following along at home, I see in that link that Heidts now offers the Superide kit for our trucks, too. We've been begging them for that for years. Yippee!
Art Morrison web site had alot of kits for IFS and 4 links without the chasis. But it is expensive. I will check out the site you suggested. Thanks for the input.
I used the Heidt's crossmember. My control arms and shockwaves are from Air Ride Tech. I used Spindles, hubs and brakes from Wilwood.
You don't have to buy any entire kit. You can mix and match components.
For the rear I used the shockwaves and universal triangulated 4 link from Air Ride Tech.
Rear brakes are also Wilwood. The calipers are matched front to rear Forged Dyna Lite. I am also using a Wilwood master cylinder and proportioning valve.
It's a manual inflation kit used for mocking up. No wiring or battery in it yet so the compressors and tanks are not installed. This lets me inflate it in the garage while under construction. There's one in the front too.
I personally went with the No Limit Wild Ride IFS up front with Wildwood Brakes and Shockwaves front and back with their 4 Link kit in the rear. There are several guys on the site who have done this recently with lots of Pics. I am boxing my entire frame and have a custom crossmember support going in as well.
Similar to this photo. (Thanks Sam)
