what is the timing supposed to be set at on a 351MOo.

I have a 77' F250 with the 351M and the manuals recommend 12 degrees BTDC. I have had the best luck with about 15 degrees BTDC but I am about 5000 feet above sea level and that could be the difference.

The tag on my 79's original valve cover says 4 degrees BTDC for the 5.8L and 6.6L engines at 500 RPM's.

The tune up sticker might say 4° BTDC at 500 rpm but that's to help with emissions. It'll probably run better with more.
