So the other day I lent my '66 F250 4X4 to my brother (that will never happen again). Since he is just 11 he is a cautious driver (he only drives 25). I normally drive at the trucks comfortable top speed (55). Anyway, when he got back I jumped n it to leave and happen to glance at the temperature gauge. 230DEGREESLuckily, nothing cracked I had known for some time that the radiator was full of hard water so I had white vinegar in the radiator which has made no difference. I would like to go to a 4 core radiator anyway.
Truck and Car Shop has a radiator listed for 66-67 2X4's. They also list a radiator for a '65. My grandpa has a '65 F250 4X4 he bought new. The two radiators are identical.
Which one will fit?
Also, the '61 - '64 look like the same mounting holes just with a different top tank. Will they fit?
It's awesome how different the country is in different areas. I read that and was thinking, "Age 11...driving a truck? That's about right. In Kansas they are driving combines at that age!" HA!
tell that kid brother of yours that he needs to watch the gauges when he's driving old vehicles
and I hear ya....I was raised in a very rural part of Texas and was driving through town to the hardware store for my dad at about 12 or so. Noboby cared as long as you weren't acting like a fool.
I have a 65 f100 and found that the 66 f250 parts truck I have the rad mounts differently. I would take a close look at which side of the rad bolts to the core support.
