As for the piece that was cut for the opening and closing of the door, it was attached using 3M tape, some other bonding stuff, and 3 screws from the inside of the door. I figured If it has taken me this long to do the project, then it was going to stay on there for the longest time afterwards.
If I had it to do all over again I would say "yes." I wanted my excursion (around here at least) to be different than the others. After doing this I know it is.

I would suggest partially putting the old mud/splash guards back on though. painted white of course. those holes are obvious
Mine is originally a limited, so my cladding (tan) wrapped all the way around the wheel and back (one piece). I need to look into buying the piece from the xlt or base model I believe. Then I can do the cutting, painting and attaching process all over again.
