64 F-100 Tach

I have a factory installed Ford tach that came in my 64 F-100. Does anybody know a value or scarcity on this? I've talked to several Ford truck guys and they said they've never seen one before. Any help appreciated.

Post a picture of it. Then maybe I or someone else can help you with that.

Not original to the time frame, from a 1980's Passenger Car. Look on its backside for a Ford ID number, something like this: E5ZF-17360-AA.

No gauges from the 1960/70's had a blue oval emblem marked on them.

I think it looks good. Should have been one of Fords better ideas.

It does look cool....I like it.

On the detective side of things though....the first giveaway that it wasn't original, that my eyes caught was the chrome trim ring. It doesn't match the trim ring around the other cluster.

Tach

Found some info on this instrument. By using the patent number, I was able to find that it was made by the Thomas G. Faria Corp. It was patented on Oct 17, 1961. The patent number is 3005155.

take it easy with that stuff.

is a late RPM tach..some one just installed it into that original cluster, you cna find a better tack to install in the other side,,that will really make the thing a unique.
