Factory Tach?
Saw a tach on this CL truck..

Never laid eyes on one before, is this a factory tach? Has there ever been a factory tach on a dentside?

Aftermarket, not genuine Ford.
No 1973/79 F100/350 was available with a tach, but the Passenger Car accessory catalogs had several listed.
These were made by Sun, were round (0-6000 or 0-8000) and clamped on the steering column like this "gypo."
Another option is to use a Rallye Pack from a 1965/66 Mustang (reproduced). Also includes a clock and is located on the steering column.
Pic: Tach is basic Ford part number: 17360 / Clock is basic Ford part number: 15000
6 cylinder tach: 0-6000 / V8 tach: 0-8000
btw: There may be some NOS 'Genuine Ford' tachs available. I'll take a look-see if anyone is interested
