drive line codes

Just wondering if anybody can tell me what These codes are,
I can't seem to remember anymore, old age maybe.

Thats weird, cause a buddy of mine who rebuils 9" for a living told me the tag on the rear end said it had 3:55. And it acts like it has limited slip in the mud and when I punch the gas on pavement, It spins both 31s with no problem.
Could the axle code on the door be wrong? Cause I don't beleve the axle has ever been rebuilt or messed with.

drive line codes

L/S codes usually contain a letter like H2,H4

Possibly Another example of why *Codes on door rating plate don't mean much*

You have to *physically check it* to make sure of a positive ID.

On a truck that old, even the original owner might forget what's been done to it. The door code shows what the factory put in it, but it might have been changed as soon as it was sold.
