what i did last year was use wire brush wheels in a hand drill and grinded down the whole frame like that and then bought several cans of rustoleum and did several coats over everything. that ony lasted less than a year, esp for the rear end of the truck (harsh winters, road salt) but what I plan to do this summer is grind it all down or sand blast it and buy that spray on bed liner stuff (similar to linex) and coat everything with that.

make sure to get it down to bare metal or else dont bother doing it at all and get some metal pre from napa to rub down to get ALL the oils and impurities off if it was me i wouldnt use bed liner due to you cant really repair and is hard to remove i would go with a ruberized undercoating 3m makes some good stuff comes with a aplicator gun or go with rust bullit it has like a 15 year warrenty and takes less coats than por 15.. just my two cents
