My driver side power window on my 92 will go down, but not up.
P/W motor and switch are working. The window is quiet going down, but clicks when trying to go up and must be helped by pulling up while pushing P/W button. My question is why is it going down and not clicking , but only trying to go up ? I thought if the gear was bad it would not work at all. I will pull off door panel, but would like to see if anyone has had this issue and what was the cause.
I had same issue and now it doesn't work at all. My passenger window also did same thing. Haven't had a real chance to investigate but i assume it would be the gear. It still pulls the power because i can notice my lights dim at night when i press button. GL and ill look into it tonight now that we have similar situation.
Both of mine do the same thing and if I put a little pressure on it the window itself will fall down farther and stop. And after mine gets rolled up(helped) it likes to fall so I have to do it a few times till it stays ...any suggestions? Asap? Haha because currently its raining...
Needs new bushings in motor. Search will turn up all info you need.
Thank You, 86F150302. You were correct. The bushings in the gear housing were bad. "weskan" also had the same issue with his. I did some searching and found a
Ford Tech. who said to simply replace them with 1/4" nuts. I kinda thought he was kidding , but was told it is done and it does work. Just use 1/4" nuts (they are about the same diameter), the thread pitch does not matter. So I put in 1/4-20's in and put the motor back in and it works great.

Your very welcome. I went through that same problem a couple years ago. Glad you got it working again.
