hey guys got question aboout my 95 f350 efi 460 5spd ignition. my problem is once the engine gets up to temp, when im low rpm in any gear and i try to accelerate say to go up a hill that it should easily go up or just build speed with out downshifting it starts to miss and sputter around. but the thing is when i first jump in it and the engine is cold i can drive it hard and it won't miss a beat untill it warms up then if i runnin hard or trying to pull a load itll miss like and sputter around. i have replaced the icm and checked just about everything to the best of my abilities. its showing codes, KOEO 121 tps voltage, 327 DPFE or EVP below minimum voltage, 553 air management 2 circuit failure, 565 canister purge circuit failure, CM, 172 HEGO sensor circuit indicates system lean (right side), 212 loss of IDM input to eec or spout circuit grounded. i was wondering if anyone could help me out with how to correct these codes and what they mean in simpler terms? thanks
What color Ignition Control Module (ICM) did you install? It should be black, if it's gray you have the wrong one. That is the most likely cause of DTC 212. I also hope you installed it with some heat sink compound on the back side.
i put the a grey on in but i gues i should have mentioned all the underhood wiring, distributor, coil, and computer are from a 94 f350 5spd which had the grey one oe. i checked it out and figured it should work as long as i have the computer and harness from the 94. yea i used the compound when i installed the new ICM. any other ideas ? thanks.
i would lean to that to but my 94 that the harness and computer came from never acted up anything like this before. i have tried it with a black ICM but it still dosen't run right.thanks
All Ford trucks 1994 and newer take the black module. They are not wired for the gray one.
When you put the black one in did the 212 go away after you cleared the codes?
It also may be that you have a bad computer if you got all the wiring in right. Most of the time when you have that many codes your 5 Volt supply is bad with too much ripple (bad caps).
