#3 died all together, so I replaced all 4 on that bank. It mande a HUGE difference in the runablility of the truck. #2,4,6,8 were replaced at 92k, but the truck has 216k on it now so next month I will also be replacing those injectors.
If anyone is replacing injectors on the passenger side bank, do yourself a favor and make sure to have a 3/8" drive (short) torque wrench available, as well as a long tip T-40 torx bit. The standard T-40 will be cocked to the side a little if you try to use it and you wont be able to get the proper torque on #7 (just because of the angle of the dangle). Also, the bottom 2 valve cover bolts at the back can be a bit frustrating, patience is required here. An 18mm (12 point) shallow socket is a good device for unlocking the connectors from the rocker arm body.
I'll try to get the pics up this evening when I get home.
The injectors have arrived, I also bought a valve cover gasket and a slew of o-rings for the fitting on the oil rail supply line. I will be doing this work tomorrow and the dealer is closed on saturdays, what other parts if any should i have on hand? Already have oil change parts as well as new fuel filters on hand. Also, on an 03 is the oil supply line an stc fitting? If so, what is the method for disconnecting it? Can it be done without special tools?
Thanks-
Do the O rings on the oil rail suply line need to be replaced and if so do they come as a kit and if so anyone know the part numbers. Want to be sure I have all necessary parts on hand
Have on Hand the following
8 ea Ford remans with O rings etc included
2 ea Stand Pipe and Dummy plugs
1 ea Crank Case O Ring W302725
2 ea valve cover gaskets on hand if needed (200K Miles)
What else is required in the way of parts to get job started and finished and what other seals / gaskets need to be replaced while at it.
